| The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) was established
by the EPA to control the
discharge of pollution point-sources, such as storm water and industrial
discharges, that could potentially affect the quality of waters of the United
States. Storm water permits can be required for different types of activities,
depending upon what Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is associated
